Urishna Shakya has more than eight years of experience in Nepal's development sector, including work in gender equality and education, focusing on youth, women, and children. She holds a master's degree in International Development (GLODEP) from the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Programme held in three reputed universities in the Czech Republic, France and Italy. She initiated and led programmes to enhance equitable access to quality education for numerous marginalised children across Nepal as a core member of the youth-led organisation Canopy Nepal since 2016. She is the Programme Officer at ChildSafeNet, overseeing research and programs to raise awareness and build knowledge and capacity among parents, teachers, children and young people regarding child online protection in Nepal.
