Ilana currently leads the APAC Safety & Integrity team for TikTok Trust & Safety. Her team addresses regional and market-specific issues through the holistic use of Trust & Safety policies, tools, and subject matter expertise. She also drives the planning and implementation of regional roadmaps and priorities across the Trust & Safety verticals through a steering group of the APAC T&S leadership. At Twitter, she was the Head of International Trust & Safety, leading teams in APAC and EMEA. She also oversaw Twitter T&S’s global program for responding to emerging content moderation and transparency regulation—from advocacy and impact assessment and, ultimately, to the design and implementation of compliance strategies. She is a lawyer by training and practiced law, then moved into law enforcement oversight and reform before becoming a Trust & Safety practitioner and leader. An American, she has lived in Singapore since 2013.
