Kate joined Discord as the inaugural APAC regional manager for Minor Safety and Exploitative Content in January 2024. She leads a team of trust and safety professionals based in Australia and the US, who are focussed on investigating and responding to online harm.
Prior to Discord, Kate spent almost four years as Meta’s Head of Law Enforcement Outreach for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, where she built collaborative relationships with security and law enforcement agencies across the region to support Meta’s trust and safety mission.
Kate joined the tech sector after a 19+ year career in law enforcement and investigative roles, serving as a detective with both Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police, specializing in areas such as online child exploitation, child sex tourism, fraud and corruption and covert operations.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts/ Laws (Hons) and a Masters of Criminology and Criminal
Justice.
