This panel will focus on how various roles and companies are preparing for the DSA (Digital Services Act). The panel will discuss how each role plays a part in transparency, operational readiness, risk assessment, and other key components of transitioning and adapting to new regulation.

This panel about wellness for trust and safety teams features experts and practitioners with various points of view who will discuss the challenges of these high-pressure roles and strategies for promoting wellness. The panel is moderated b a trust and safety manager who will ask panelists some of the burning questions managers ask themselves every day about managing trust and safety teams. Attendees can expect practical advice on stress-management techniques and fostering a culture of self-care.

With the rise in popularity of GPT-based models like ChatGPT, the wider public has been getting an insight into the power of state-of-the-art generative text models - but they're not limited to writing poems or telling you a joke. Few-shot learning is a new technique which allows you to tackle classic machine learning problems like text classification and sentiment analysis with surprising accuracy without the need for large amounts of data or an expert-level knowledge of data science. On the other side, GPT models can be very useful when building one of these more traditional, specialised models. By generating synthetic samples of training data, existing datasets can be augmented or even replaced entirely. The purpose of this presentation is to showcase some of the ways we've been using GPT models to improve our Trust & Safety offering across Bumble Inc's apps, as well as some of the dangers and pitfalls involved.

Framing the value of trust and safety is an art, not a science. That's why we have brought together a few speakers who will provide insight into how they discuss trust and safety within their company. They will also address common questions and misconceptions from cross-functional teams and leadership. This session is designed to initiate on-going conversation, and it will provide attendees with various approaches to obtaining buy-in.

Over or under enforcement within online communities or companies that connect communities offline can have serious consequences for both the community itself and the individuals involved. Over-enforcement can lead to censorship and suppression, while under-enforcement can allow harmful behavior to go unchecked, leading to an unsafe environment. This session will shed light on the importance of striking a balance, and answer tough questions about where to draw the line.

Scrap the idea of developing policy in US English from a US-centric perspective, where would you start to develop T&S policies if we began by factoring in languages and cultural nuances from the start? And how would that differ from the current state of T&S policy development across global tech companies which are largely based out of the US?

This session will look ahead to online child sexual abuse and exploitation (OCSAE) trends and challenges for generative AI technology. It will walk through risks with generative AI with regard to content (such as CSAM, sexualisation of minors and abuse instructions) and conduct (generative AI as part of the abuse lifecycle for offenders). The session will then present ideas on trust and safety protections, safety by design and harm prevention.

The field of Trust & Safety has grown tremendously over the past few years. A T&S professional today can be moderating content, building products, responding to government requests, resolving complex content issues through policy decision-making, adherence to quality assurance and much more. Those who work are also from diverse different backgrounds. Some are lawyers, teachers, civil servants or even other fields who pick up this profession of safeguarding the communities at large. Like any other career, individuals in this field too, enter at various stages of their professional lives - early, late or rejoiners (after taking a break).
