The Digital Services Act (‘DSA’) has opened up new avenues for users to appeal platforms’ content decisions. Platforms must not only ensure they have the appropriate internal mechanisms in place to enable successful appeals but also engage with external appeal bodies, who will conduct their own independent reviews. As a platform, how do you navigate what’s required to facilitate these new appeal avenues? What policy, product, and operational challenges will you face? How do you best partner with an external provider who now has oversight on your platform’s decisions?
