Paul O'Connell

Paul leads TikTok's Content Regulation legal team, where he is responsible for the team that oversees the implementation of new content safety laws (e.g. Europe's Digital Services Act and the UK's Online Safety Act) and provides ongoing advice on those laws once they are in effect. His team works closely with all aspects of the TikTok business to design and deliver practical and effective compliance with these laws and to engage with regulators across the region to help them in understanding TikTok's compliance approach.

Prior to joining TikTok, Paul worked at Meta and the BBC on a wide range of social media, media and commercial legal issues.
